About Elizabeth McCormack, MAMFT, LMFT
Finding the right therapist, who understands what you are going through, is essential to creating change. The right fit makes all the difference on the journey to feeling better–not just for you but for everyone in your family. I embrace life with authenticity and humor, which my clients experience in my informal and relaxed style in my work.
I partner with my clients to foster healing and wholeness. I help them process traumas, work on life’s stressors, and confront conflict through cognitive behavioral education and mindfulness techniques. I am eager to hear your stories and understand the challenges you face. As an outside observer, I can help you discover and understand cognitive distortions – the places in life that aren’t quite matching up or feel confusing.
My specialties are working with adults with anxiety, depression, and complicated grief, as well as couples and families to improve communication and help them see other perspectives.
Since the early 2000’s I have practiced in different settings: a boys’ group home, a domestic violence shelter, and a community mental health center. My favorite setting is private practice because of the diversity found there.
Most of my life was spent throughout the Midwest. I received my undergraduate degree in Indiana from Hanover College. I then moved on to Louisville, Kentucky, and received a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Master of Divinity from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
Since 2015, I have lived in Florida with my husband who is a Presbyterian minister, two school-aged sons, and a hyperactive dog named Brigitta. I enjoy reading, cooking, and traveling. I’m a fiercely loyal friend and love spending time with family.
I am currently accepting private pay and Humana Commercial (not Medicaid or Medicare) clients. You can also use out-of-network benefits with me! Be sure to contact your particular insurance company for authorization and a claims form we’ll need to fill out and submit. CLICK HERE to schedule your appointment online!
I love the work that I do and I look forward to working with you!
About Megan Bayles Bartley, MAMFT, LMFT
I was born in California, but grew up in Seattle and graduated from the University of Washington. After living in Tucson, Arizona for a bit, I decided to get my Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. I have loved living all across the United States and have been lucky enough to travel the world. I love meeting new people and exploring new cultures. When I’m not working on my practice, my media contributions, attending a public speaking event or a board meeting, you’ll find me being silly with my family, reading (a lot!), practicing yoga (a little), and being creative (always!).
I am honored to be named one of the “Three Best Marriage Counselors in Louisville, KY” by threebestrated.com. Besides seeing clients in my private practice I also contribute to the media, such as Martha Stewart Weddings Online and Today’s Woman magazine. I also love public speaking. I have also been a board member of GLOW, Greater Louisville Outstanding Women, which supports the ‘best of the best’ women in business.
I am a published author of a fun and silly book for parents to read to kiddos at bedtime called “Don’t Go To Sleep.” It is a method I created for my 4 year-old daughter that worked wonderfully. Essentially it is a guided meditation that helps parents calm down and relax just as much as kiddos! My hope is that it will work just as well for other families as much as it did for ours. So far the feedback has been very positive! Give it a try! It’s available on Amazon: HERE.
